Selected Available Paintings

A changing selection of works from Bad Painting, Jay Rechsteiner’s ongoing series begun in 2013.

These paintings begin with real events and images encountered in the news and everyday life. The relationship between image, language and material has changed over time, from small acrylic canvases to increasingly physical oil paintings and larger formats.

The selection below is not the full inventory. Works elsewhere in the archive may also be available; enquiries about individual paintings are welcome.
